round we go

an assortment of whirls, swirls, and medallions (or more bluntly, a bunch of round things):

pinky swear

certain colors are inextricably bound with certain eras. this marvelously creamy pink basically equals 1940's in my brain. the 1930's had a milky blue, the 1970's was all ochre. but we are here today to ogle at this pink!

cold and smooth

nooo, i'm not talking about some fancy beer, i'm talking about RAYON! cold, slippery, heavy rayon. when i'm going through racks or piles of vintage at shops or the flea market, it's the distinct feel of this fabric that makes me stop in my tracks to pull out what i've found (if only to admire!) it drapes incredibly well and feels great to wear in the summer compared to other synthetics. these are all from the 1940's.
