cardigan

after watching "pink flamingos", all i want to be is connie marble.

i have similar glasses but my prescription changed and now they're too strong to wear at the moment. now my sole life's purpose is to bleach the life out of my hair so i can color it orange and have a turquoise suit and wear rhinestones all the time.

which brings me to the point of this post. i found this cardigan last week buried in a pile of ugly 1970s gym shirts and polyester horrors at no relation in the east village. i thought at first, "hm, not a bad pale pink, in fact i think i like it" which soon turned to "OH MY GOD I DON'T CARE IF IT'S NOT MY SIZE IT'S AMAZING." i'm sure everyone's had at least one of those in their vintage buying lives. anyways, it's a 1950's sweater by rosanna and by far the best cardigan ever.this cardigan is one step closer to that dream.

closer...
closest!

amazingly, not a single pearl bead or rhinestone is missing and all the felt is in great shape. most embellished 1950's cardigans i've seen are usually in the black/gold/cream spectrum, which has its own appropriate charms but i just love felt appliques done so tastefully.

and now to send you off with a gratuitous photo of henderson!

  1. My! You've certainly done a great job with that cat of yours. He looks healthy and happy--shiny eyes and glossy coat of fur.

    Cute sweater, too!
